It has been an interesting few days here in North Carolina. Hurricane Florence has dumped 40 inches of rain in places along our East Coast and around 6 to 8 inches here in Burlington, NC. My executive pastor and I were supposed to leave for Bangladesh, Nepal, and India on September 13, but because of the weather all flights were cancelled. Needless to say, we are still here in North Carolina. I know that God is in control and I know that we will eventually get to meet our partners on the other side of the world soon!
We are currently partnered with Everest Base Camp Outreach, which is a Seminary Bible College in the Nepal, and they have classes that begin in October. Please pray for them as they begin their new year preparing pastors to share the gospel. We also work with a children’s home in Nepal (I am unable to disclose the name) but there are over 25 children in the home that are hearing the gospel and carrying Jesus to the schools they go to. Pray for them as they have a major need for a well to be dug on their property to help with water issues. In India we are partnered with 2 children’s homes, with a total of 35 children, that are hearing the good news of the gospel and carrying it to their families and into their schools. We are also personally involved with one pastor that is planting churches and preaching the good news across India. When we get to go to India in January we will be able to sit down and talk with the President of an Evangelical Association that has a goal of planting over 100,000 churches in India. Wow! What a goal for the Kingdom!
Pray for us as we continue to pray and plan for the new trip and as we continue to encourage our partners. They were excited to get to put faces with names, as were we. It is disheartening to have to cancel, but God has a plan and He is in control.
